J2000

Somehow these are the only surviving photos of my 1982 Pontiac J2000.
I drove this through high school and college. Gee, this car saw me
through lots of adventures!

The J2000 was my first car, thanks to Mom and Dad's generosity and
the fact that they understood the stigma of a high school student having
to drive a Ford station wagon juggernaut.

It was one slow tortoise with only a 1.8L engine that cranked 100hp.
I think it did the 0-60 in about 13 secs! ... and that was with a
tail wind and down a hill. However, it sure was more fun to drive
than a station wagon. Note to self, never buy a first year car.
It was the FIRST year of the J-car platform, which has mogrified
into two decades of Chevy Cavalier, Pontiac Sunbird and many others.
